Searching for materials

The Search for materials can be achieved by using the following search options available in the system search panel:

Simple Search Mode

Use this mode to conduct searches by material name, product name, CAS No., CW No.

Advanced Search Mode

Search for materials by name, CAS No, CW No, CAS No (Ingredient In), DG Class, Packing Group, R-Code, Sub-Risk, UN No, EINECS, Part No, Vendor, Structure, Poison Schedule, Cat No. and Hazard Rating.

Query Builder

Search for materials by using an existing query (determined by the type of operators and query string). Note that a query must first be created before conducting any subsequent searches.

 Steps: Search for material

The steps below provide the sequence of tasks to search by a specific material name to find SDS from the Full Chemwatch database.

  1. Select the Home module button

  2. Click on the Simple tab in the Search panel

  3. Select the Vendor SDS button from the SDS and Labels panel

  4. Type the Name of the material

5. Select the material name from the autocomplete drop-down list

6. Click on the material name by a vendor to display SDS

Note that if there’s more one vendor, multiple vendors will be displayed in the document listing. Use the side panel to filter the list further by country, language, vendor.
